I have been making some progress on the back of Cutaway. I really like material Silky Wool makes, which is a good thing seeing as I have more of it in my stash. This picture doesn't show the color accurately. It is actually a light tweedy denim blue. Pretty!

And for Leah, my sampler. I did this about 20 years ago and still love it.

Today is Friday, my favorite day of the week. I am almost always in a good mood on Friday, especially around 4:00 pm. Have a great weekend and Happy Knitting!
Posted by Karen at March 24, 2006 08:02 AMI admire you, Leah and Teyani for those samplers! I am decent at cross stitch but don't have the patience for such a large project. It looks great!
Posted by: amanda at March 24, 2006 08:34 AMYes, cross stitch, the long forgotten craft of my earlier years. OK, so it was only 5 years ago that I forsook it. Now it's all knitting , all the time!
Posted by: Chris at March 24, 2006 08:46 AMYour sampler is beautiful. Also Cutaway is coming along great and I really like the color. Have a good weekend.
Posted by: wendy g at March 24, 2006 09:38 AMHi! I've been reading but don't think I've commented before...
Anyhow - love the sampler too. It's really timeless and cool.
Posted by: stephanie at March 24, 2006 10:20 AMThanks for sharing Karen! I love it too! Very Art Deco!
And Silky Wool makes such a yummy fabric, doesn't it?
Have a wonderful weekend!
Posted by: Leah at March 24, 2006 10:32 AMGorgeous sampler! And I love the BFL you're spinning right now as well - I'm not doing any new embroidery at this time.. are you?
Posted by: Teyani at March 24, 2006 10:36 AMThis weekend I'd love to spend more time with my Cutaway. Have a great weekend and knit, knit, knit;-)
Posted by: margene at March 24, 2006 11:44 AMI love that sampler! It's so funky--it looks like a jukebox. Or maybe a pinball machine. Very cool.
Posted by: katie at March 24, 2006 01:41 PMDamn woman. I don't care what you say. You do knit fast. I love the sampler. Very Art Deco.
Posted by: gothknits at March 24, 2006 03:16 PMBeautiful cross stitch! I'm a huge fan of Silky Wool, too, although I haven't made a sweater from it yet. I'm looking forward to seeing yours.
Posted by: Jane at March 24, 2006 11:15 PMCutaway looks good (OK, right now it looks like a sweater back - but an Inspirational sweater back). I just like the name "Silky Wool." It's enough to make a person want to knit something.
Posted by: Emily at March 25, 2006 08:03 AMLooking very good! I can't wait to see this as a finished knit. It's one of my favorite designs by Bonne Marie!
Posted by: Becky from fluffa! at March 26, 2006 11:30 AMI really like to cross stitch too! The last sampler I did was 8 year ago from my nephew's birth and I didn't take a pic....
Yours is great!
That sampler is absolutely gorgeous!!!
