A finished Cutaway.

Pattern: Cutaway from Bonne Marie Burns
Yarn: Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool 013 Sky Blue (looks more like faded denim to me)
Needles: US 3 and 5
Started: 3/15/06
Finished: 4/27/06

Modifications: I added 1 inch to the body length and the sleeve length. I put the button hole and button a little lower than what it said in the pattern thinking I would like it better. I don't. Won't do that the next time. That's it.
Loved the pattern. Loved the yarn. I would be quite content to have this sweater in every color of Silky Wool they make. I will definitely make this again. The next one will be in Black Silky Wool. What a perfect little black sweater this would be. It's the perfect weight. It's soft and warm without being hot.

I am now swatching for CeCe. Cute!
Happy Knitting!

Posted by: amanda at April 29, 2006 06:08 PMLooks fantastic! I think the button placement is just fine. And add me to the list of knitters that just bought the CeCe pattern too. It's cute!
Posted by: caro at April 29, 2006 06:12 PMGrrl that is one good looking sweater! I put mine on hold as I HAD to get to CeCe first. Now I wonder if I did the right thing. Love the color and the fit. Nice work!
Posted by: margene at April 29, 2006 07:41 PMNow, see? If I had seen this post before today, I would have recognized you straight off! Great to meet you!
Posted by: Carole at April 29, 2006 07:41 PMVery cute Karen! I love Silky Wool, and I can so see it in black!
I am swatching CeCe too! That's going to be a fun one!
Posted by: Leah at April 29, 2006 07:42 PMKaren, it looks great on you! I think the button placement looks perfect. And I'm glad the silky wool is better than the silky tweed (ugh).
So, who's going to host a CeCe knitalong? Cause there Ce-Ce-seem to be a lot of knitters getting ready to knit it!
Posted by: katie at April 29, 2006 07:50 PMVery flattering! Looks like the perfect sweater for Spring.
Posted by: Jane at April 29, 2006 11:17 PMVery chic! You chose a wonderful color for it, too.
P.S. I'm looking forward to seeing CeCe, another ChicKnits fave!
Posted by: Becky at April 30, 2006 07:02 AMThat looks great. It's one of those sweaters you can wear with jeans or something more dressy. Good job an the edging, too.
Posted by: Dave Daniels at April 30, 2006 08:13 AMKaren it looks great on you! I like the one you are swatching for next too. You always pick the neatest things!

Posted by: Amy at April 30, 2006 10:12 AMWow. The sweater looks great! You are such a prolific knitter! I was just looking at the silky wool at the lys yesterday. They had a lace shawl made with it, and it was beautiful. It's definitely going on my good yarn list now!
Posted by: Cordelia at April 30, 2006 02:51 PMThe sweater is beautiful and I also am thinking about CeCe too. Have a good week.
Posted by: Wendy G at April 30, 2006 06:31 PMVery, very nice cardigan....... so pretty.

Posted by: Lorette at May 1, 2006 12:51 PMWow, this is beautiful, you did an amazing job with it! It really suits you perfectly, and the color you chose is absolutely pretty!
Posted by: Dipsy at May 1, 2006 01:30 PMIt is so cute. I love it! It was so nice to see you Saturday. I wanted to give you a big 'ol hug, but sometimes when people hug me and ask if I'm ok, it makes me feel 100x worse. So I stuck with what makes everyone feel better: yarn show & tell. :)
Posted by: Jenny at May 1, 2006 01:44 PMI'm quite impressed! The sweater looks fabulous on! I think I don't have the patience to knit sweaters, but for this one I could make an exception.
Posted by: Allison at May 1, 2006 02:24 PMIt looks great! I just bought this pattern and the CeCe pattern...time to go stash diving ;o)
