I finally managed to get a copy of Paula Simmon's book, Spinning for Softness and Speed. I had been waiting forever to get a copy from Amazon and finally gave up and ordered one from Pat Green Carders. A week or so later it arrived in my mailbox. Yay! I should have done that months ago. I haven't tried this technique yet, but I am looking forward to doing so. I need to look through the fiber stash and figure out which fiber I am willing to trash while learning it.

On my wheel is Corriedale pencil roving from Crown Mountain Farms in Seafoam that has been in my stash for quite a while. I seem to buy fiber much faster than I spin it. I think I am going to be on a fiber diet soon. Really, I should be on one now, but soon sounds better to me.

I love spinning this stuff.

A new to me site....The Yarn Museum is an online museum honoring the beauty and artistry of handspun yarn. I especially enjoyed the Handspun / FO gallery. Inspiring!

I am working on updating my stash sale page and hope to get it up by tomorrow. I am going to list some of my handspun too. There is just too much yarn around here! I Enjoy the rest of your weekend and Happy Knitting!

I'm so glad you got the book..it will revolutionize your spinning! The way I learned was with some Bartlett pencil roving, just letting it slip through my fingers to get the feel of, well, letting it slip! And also that scary one-handed thing! You will use up fiber in a flash when you get reasonably proficient at this, too, and added benefit, other than that soft and even business. (Oh, and when you decide you need a drum carder, Pat Green is the way to go!)

You are one of my spinning guru's. Your spinning inspires me, your fiber choices tempt me, and your book and DVD reviews encourage me! You will make me a better spinner in spite of my innate laziness!

Margene asked me to try and find that book for her this weekend at SPA but no one had it. I'm glad to know you think it's worth getting, though.

Fiber diet? Yeah, I need one of those too. I've got some of that pencil roving too, one of these days I'll get to it. You're looks so soft and pretty.

I can't believe how very pretty your handspun is, I'm really, really impressed! And yay for receiving that book, I'm quite curious already to hear/read what you think of it!

A fiber diet....what a cool idea! ;o)

Try having people guess the day you'll cave - it really helps you stick to it *g*
