I finished my bathrobe and thought I'd show you how it came out. I am really happy with it now that I lowered the belt loops. The pattern is McCall's M5248. I thought the green gingham was perfect for spring, which has to be right around the corner. I picked up the fabric at a local store called Affordable Fabrics that sells all their material for $1.99 a yard. So this robe only cost $8.00 to make. Can't beat that! I was going to model it this morning complete with no make-up and bed-head, but I didn't want to scare anybody.

It was a fairly easy project for me except for the shawl collar. I had a really hard time figuring that out from the pattern directions. The only other modification I made was to add a loop behind the neck for hanging it up. Of course, I didn't think of adding it until the neck was all sewn up, so I got a little more practice with ripping out those itsy-bitsy little stitches. Good times.

I hope you are enjoying your weekend! Oh, and I finished Clapotis too! Yay! It is blocking downstairs along with the Noro scarf as I type this.
Happy Knitting!

Posted by: Elizabeth at March 1, 2008 04:35 PMOoh, I adore that green gingham! I"ve been really itching to do something with gingham and I'm sure I"ve got more than one pattern for a robe. Perhaps it's time to replace my ancient one. Nice job!
