Boy, last week was a really long week. It has been a long time since I have been that sick. I am still sick actually but getting better every day. This thing just does not want to leave my body. Most of last week was spent either sleeping or in a TV coma. There was little to no knitting accomplished. We had bought tickets months ago to see Celtic Woman on Friday and I just wasn't well enough to go and so I had to miss them. I was so disappointed! Hubby went though and said they were wonderful and I was glad he didn't have to miss them too. Anyway, I'm glad to be working on a new week here and to finally be on the mend.
Here are the pictures of the Serpentine Mitts I finished a few weeks ago. I really like having a pair of mitts made with fingering weight yarn. The other mitts I have made all used heavier yarns and these thin, snug fitting mitts are a very nice change.

Pattern: Serpentine Mitts from Miriam Felton
Yarn: 1 skein Koigu P307
Needles: 2.25 mm
Started: January 2008
Finished March 2008

I finally decided on a pattern for my May Day socks. This is the Floral Lace Anklet pattern from Evelyn Clark that is in the Lace Style book. I am using Lorna's Laces sock yarn in Denim and will most likely make them regular length rather than the anklet length in the pattern. It's a fun pattern and I am enjoying working on them. Hopefully my swap pal will like them.

Well that's all I have for news. I hope you are all healthy and have avoided this flu!
Happy Knitting!
Posted by Karen at March 17, 2008 10:57 AMThat flu bug is so nasty - it was here too and it tends to linger on. I hope that you are better soon.
I love Celtic Woman - what a shame that you had to miss them!
Your serpetine mitts are gorgeous.
Beautiful mitts and socks! And glad you are starting to feel better. Being sick is the worst!

Posted by: Jenny at March 17, 2008 10:50 AMSorry to hear how sick you got. I hope you're feeling back to normal soon.
The mitts are lovely and those socks are going to be beautiful!
I'm home today with my little one who was up kneeling at the throne all night. Ewww. Hope you are completely better soon!
Posted by: Lisa at March 17, 2008 01:35 PMOh, Karen, I hear you. I got sick with this thing almost two weeks ago and I still have the aches and cough. I even lost my voice last Wednesday and I still don't have it back. I feel your pain. I thought I was the only one struggling through an extended version, though! All the other teachers got it and were better within 5 days, even my kids and my husband too, but not me. I think I'd be better in one more week.
The mitts are beautiful! I love the piano shot (but again, I would :) ) The color is gorgeous.
Sorry about Celtic Woman. That's disappointing.
Posted by: amyh at March 17, 2008 01:57 PMSorry to hear you've been sick with that darn flu, but glad to hear you're on the mend.

Posted by: Teresa C at March 17, 2008 04:22 PMI'm glad you are feeling a little better. It's awful to feel so bad that you don't even want to knit. Love the mitts and the floral lace socks are beautiful
Posted by: Elizabeth at March 17, 2008 06:37 PMGlad you feel better. Those fingerless gloves are lovely and fit you very well. As forthe socks, well, the colour actually IS denim! How accurate. So often the name of the colourway doesn't match what you think....Not that that's bad....

Posted by: Jessica at March 20, 2008 12:38 PMSorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. Round 2 of flu has hit our house this week so I know how crappy it is. I hope your feeling 100% very soon!
