WIP Wednesday

I was able to meet last weeks goal and the latest batch of singles have been plied. This is a basic wool blend from Spunky Eclectic in the Lite Nova Scotia colorway. No plans for it as usual, just added it to the ever growing stash pile.

2 ply - approximately 240 yards - 12 wpi

I started spinning the superwash Corriedale that was next on the list. It's lovely to spin...soft and smooth and not quite as slippery as superwash Merino. My goal for this week is to finish up the singles so I can get some much needed practice with Navajo plying.

I started but did not finish sock yarn square #3. The goal for this week is to finish this one and start #4.

I also made my goal on the socks that are now boring me to tears. The goal for this week is to get as much done on these as possible so that I can get them off the needles and start a new pair with some COLOR.

Happy Knitting!

Your plied yarn is very pretty. You spinners amaze me. And I really like the sock yarn squares. How big are they when finished? What are you going to make with them? I think I remember something about an afghan. Boy that would take me a very long time. Maybe if I didn't have so many different projects going at once. :-)

Love the Nova Scotia....VERY nice spinning, indeed! (Way more even than mine, darnit!)

Nice job on all of it. :)

Spinning looks great!! (As does the knitting!)

Wow! Love the new yarn! Someday I hope to be able to spin that evenly!

How beautiful, Karen. Love the colors. Those socks would be perfect for my husband. He loves all colors of brown, beige, tan, etc. and that would be a perfect pattern for him. I'll have to try that. He's due for a new pair of socks. The girls get all the others I knit.

I still have that sock yarn for you for your blankie. I'll have to show up to SnB one of these days so I can get it to you!

Great pictures. Like the way your blog is set up to see progress on different projects

240 yards is the perfect amount for a cowl or a pair of fingerless mitts :-) Your handspun is gorgeous.

Hmmm...you don't SELL your yarn, do you?
That colorway is to die for.

Oh, my goodness that is pretty yarn, Karen. You do such nice work.

Karen,
I also had an ever growing stash pile of handspun, so I started making hand /wrist warmers from the book Last Minute Knitted Gifts, pg.66. They are a quick knit and only require 100 yards. They make great gifts. I just love reading your blog. You are inspiring me to start one myself. Keep up the beautiful spinning.
